UNALA Presents Case Studies at the Pan American Sugar Cane and Alcohol Congress

The Pan American Sugar Cane and Alcohol Congress (Panacaña 2025) was held on September 15th, 16th, and 17th in Costa Rica, focusing on promoting innovation and sustainable growth in the sugar and energy sectors, addressing key topics related to production, field practices, and environmental quality.

The congress, which brought together managers, producers, specialists, and researchers from the industry, aimed to foster a comprehensive analysis of the sector’s future challenges and opportunities. Topics such as the digital industry, artificial intelligence, robotics, 4.0 technology, agronomy, biogas and biomethane, as well as the commercialization and sustainability of sugarcane and its derivatives were discussed.

The Association of Latin American Sugar Producers (UNALA) presented case studies that highlighted best practices in sustainability within the Latin American sugar agroindustry, contributing to the discussion on how to move toward more responsible and efficient production, aligned with the sector’s global challenges.

Such forums are essential for continuing to promote innovation, safety, and environmental quality in the sugar industry, which is increasingly focused on technological and sustainable solutions.
