By CAEI, República Dominicana –
At CAEI, we firmly believe that sustainable development goes beyond operations. It is built through people, communities, and, above all, through the opportunities we create to transform realities. Guided by this vision, we promote initiatives that integrate education, culture, and sustainability as fundamental pillars of our commitment to the country.
Education and culture are powerful drivers of development. This is why Cuento Contigo was created as a community-based cultural project led by CAEI that supports children and adolescents in their holistic development by using reading and artistic expression as tools for social transformation.
Developed in partnership with Editorial SM, the program promotes key skills such as literacy, communication, self-esteem, cultural identity, and environmental awareness.
More than a standalone initiative, Cuento Contigo follows a structured process designed to ensure long-term and sustainable impact:
- Listening to the context and needs of each community
- Recovering and preserving local stories
- Creating stories rooted in local identity
- Distributing books
- Supporting reading and comprehension processes
- Providing continuous follow-up and guidance
When processes are implemented effectively, the results go far beyond expectations. Through this project, we have succeeded in:
- Strengthening reading, writing, and oral communication skills
- Developing social abilities and fostering a stronger sense of community
- Empowering young leaders who continue generating positive impact
The outcome is clear: stronger family bonds, children with a reinforced sense of cultural identity, and more united and sustainable communities. Cuento Contigo connects education, culture, and participation to help build a better future from childhood onward.
